The M-Audio MobilePre 2 is a portable 2-in/2-out USB audio interface. It features dual XLR/TRS combo inputs, switchable +48V phantom power for condenser mics, and 24-bit/48kHz recording quality.


  • Inputs: 2 front-panel XLR/TS combo jacks and 2 rear-panel line inputs (switchable).

  • Outputs: 2 rear-panel 1/4" line outputs (for studio monitors) and a front-panel headphone jack.

  • Controls: Top-panel knobs for input level (gain), headphone volume, and line-out level.

  • Power: Fully USB bus-powered (no external power adapter needed).

  • Zero-Latency Monitoring: Includes a 'Direct Monitor' button to bypass the computer for latency-free recording. 


The interface is now considered legacy hardware and is no longer actively supported by M-Audio with up-to-date drivers for the newest operating systems (like recent macOS updates or Windows 11). However, it will work on operating systems up to MacOS 10.7.4 Lion & Windows 7.
