Alesis iO Dock

The Alesis iO Dock is a pioneering, wedge-shaped audio and MIDI interface that transforms an early-generation Apple iPad (not supplied) into a complete mobile music production studio. By fully housing the tablet, it bypasses cables and dongles to provide robust, studio-grade connectivity directly to the iPad's internal Core Audio and Core MIDI frameworks. 

• Audio Inputs: Two XLR-1/4" TRS combo inputs featuring individual channel gain controls. It includes switchable 48V phantom power for condenser microphones and a dedicated guitar-direct (Hi-Z) switch on input 2. 

• Audio Outputs: Two balanced 1/4" main studio monitor outputs and a dedicated 1/4" headphone jack, each controlled by separate volume knobs. 

• MIDI Control: Standard 5-pin DIN MIDI In, MIDI Out, and a USB MIDI port for connecting hardware controllers or external synthesisers.

• Video Output: An RCA composite video port designed to project lyrics or visuals from compatible apps onto a TV or projector. 

• Power: Operated via a specialized 6V AC 3.0A universal power supply, which charges the iPad during use. 

Because the original Alesis iO Dock was engineered as a form-fitting physical cradle, it is only compatible with the original iPad 1 (not supplied) but includes a slide-in plastic adapter bracket to fit the slimmer iPad 2. It relies exclusively on the older Apple 30-pin connector and does not support modern USB-C iPads.
