1. Introduction

Welcome to QuickBids. By registering, bidding, or purchasing through this platform, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

QuickBids operates as an auction platform for the sale of preloved, surplus, and used equipment, including items previously owned by educational institutions and partner organisations.

2. Auction Terms

• All bids placed are legally binding.

• By placing a bid, you are committing to purchase the item if you are the winning bidder.

• Some items may be subject to a reserve price.

• QuickBids reserves the right to:

  • withdraw items at any time

  • cancel or suspend auctions

  • refuse or remove bids at our discretion

If a winning bidder fails to complete the purchase, the item may be re-listed and the account may be restricted or removed.

3. Buyer Responsibilities

• It is your responsibility to ensure you have reviewed the item description fully before placing a bid.

• You must carry out your own due diligence on all items.

• You confirm that you have the means to pay for and collect the item within the required timeframe.

4. Payment Terms

• Payment must be made within 48 hours of the auction ending unless otherwise agreed.

• Accepted payment methods:

  • Credit / Debit Card

  • PayPal

  • Bank Transfer

Failure to make payment within this timeframe may result in:

• cancellation of the sale

• the item being re-listed

• restriction or removal of your account

5. Collection Terms

• All items are collection only.

• Once payment is received, a collection date and time will be arranged via email.

• Items must be collected within the agreed timeframe (typically within 5 working days, unless agreed otherwise).

If items are not collected:

• we reserve the right to re-list the item

• no refunds will be issued

6. Condition of Goods

• All items are preloved/used and sold as seen.

• Items may show signs of wear, age, or minor faults.

• We aim to highlight any known issues; however:

  • descriptions are provided in good faith

  • they are not guaranteed to be exhaustive

No warranties or guarantees are provided on any items.

7. No Returns or Refunds

• All sales are final.

• We do not offer returns, refunds, or exchanges.

• The usual consumer “cooling-off period” does not apply to auction sales.

8. Limitation of Liability

QuickBids shall not be liable for:

• any indirect or consequential losses

• loss of profit or business

• faults or issues arising after collection

Our total liability shall not exceed the final purchase price of the item.

 

9. User Accounts & Conduct

• You must provide accurate and up-to-date information when registering.

• The following are strictly prohibited:

  • false or misleading bids

  • bid manipulation or “shill bidding”

  • misuse of the platform

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts at any time.

 

10. Data Protection & Privacy

We handle all personal data in accordance with UK GDPR.

• Your data is used for:

  • account management

  • processing payments

  • arranging collection

• We do not sell your data to third parties.

• Data is stored securely and only retained as necessary.

 

11. College & Surplus Asset Disclaimer

Some items sold via QuickBids originate from educational institutions or public sector organisations.

• These items are sold as part of asset disposal processes

• Equipment may have been in long-term or high-frequency use

• Maintenance history may not always be available

This is reflected in the “sold as seen” condition of all items.

 

12. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
